Silk Painting Workshop Series
Please Join me for my Silk Painting workshop hosted at the Monterey Museum of Art.
This 4 session series of workshops will consist of Silk Painting techniques including: Conceptualizing, thumbnailing, Drawing skills, color mixing skills, Painting on different silk canvases including stretched silk as well as making silk jewelry.
Students will experiment with 4 different silk painting skills which include learning all about the different materials and history of silk painting; using a Gutta resist technique to make a beautiful line art base for a finished painting on a handkerchief. Next, we will be learning a non-traditional style of painting without stretcher bars using freezer paper, and then finally we will explore different silk jewelries using pins and necklaces.
The takeaway from this series of workshops will include 4 finished pieces of handmade, completely original silk painted pieces of art: a circle hoop painting, a 11x11 handkerchief, a stretched painting, and a piece of jewelry.
